چکیده

Ethylene propylene diene elastomers (EPDM) of various side chains and molecular weights were prepared as thin discs and the effects of electric field strength and temperature on the electromechanical properties were investigated. The electrical conductivity, the dielectric constant, the storage and loss moduli (G and G), the storage modulus response ( 1000V mm G  ), and the storage modulus sensitivity ( 1000V mm G  / 0 G ) of the elastomers of different ethylene norbornene (ENB) contents and molecular weights were measured under electric field strengths varying from 0 V/mm to 1000 V/mm and at temperatures between 300 K and 380 K. The storage modulus response and sensitivity increase with increasing molecular weight and dielectric constant, consistent with the existing theory. However, for the case of EPDMs with different ENB contents, the storage modulus response and sensitivity vary inversely with the dielectric constant. EDPM is potentially a new type of electroactive materials.

An Integrated AHP-PROMETHEE Method for Selecting the most Suitable Ethylene Propylene Diene Termonomer

This paper considers the problem of selecting the most appropriate ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), which is a polyolefin with a variety of usages in different areas. The metallocene catalyst, bis(2-phenyl indenyl) zirconium dichloride ((2-PhInd)2ZrCl2) was synthesized by a modified method and applied to the terpolymerization of ethylene, propylene, and 5-ethylidiene-2-norbornene (ENB)....

Mechanical Properties and Morphology of Impact Modified Polypropylene- Wood Flour Composites

The mechanical properties and morphology of polypropylene/wood flour (PP/WF) composites with different impact modifiers and maleated polypropylene (MAPP) as a compatibilizer have been studied. Two different ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymers (EPDM) and one maleated styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene triblock copolymer (SEBS-MA) have been used as impact modifiers in the PP/WF systems. All three...

The Influence of Compatibilizer Addition and Gamma Irradiation on Mechanical and Rheological Properties of a Recycled WEEE Plastics Blend

Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is growing rapidly, and the plastics within WEEE have an important role in fulfilling the recovery and recycling targets defined in the European WEEE Directive. This study considers recycling of WEEE plastics by making a blend of the different plastics instead of separating them. The mechanical and thermal properties can be enhanced by adding a c...

[ONNO]-type amine bis(phenolate)-based vanadium catalysts for ethylene homo- and copolymerization*

The synthesis and solution and solid-state structural characterization of a family of amine bis(phenolate) [ONNO]-vanadium complexes is reviewed. These compounds have oxi dation states ranging from vanadium(II) to vanadium(V), and were evaluated as olefin polymerization catalysts. In association with EtAlCl2 cocatalyst, we studied the homo polymerization of ethylene, propene, and 1-hexene, as w...
